Wilder Edge's The Betting
Deontay Wilder defends his WBC Heavyweight Belt against the ‘Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California this Saturday night. This mouth watering clash is one of the biggest Heavyweight bouts in recent times with both fighters being undefeated in a combined 67 profession fights.
Despite Fury taking an extended break from the sport after personal issues and only having two fights against mediocre opponents the bookmakers have him only slight second favourite against the ‘Bronzed Bomber’. Fury is 11/8 to beat Wilder, whilst Wilder is 8/13 to win in the ‘Outright’ market. The draw is 25/1 which actually looks a solid bet considering how these fighters styles will dominate this bout.
Despite the odds being stacked against him, Fury is more than confident and believes he has been Wilder’s puppet master for the last several weeks.
“The Bronze Bomber made the biggest mistake of his life when he let me talk him into this fight,” Fury claimed.
“Wilder never realised that it was me who chose to fight him, not the other way round. He is in for a terrible shock when he sees me in the ring. Sees that I’ve beaten him already.
“I told Frank this was the fight I wanted above all others. No more bums. So I asked him to tell Wilder’s team that he would be fighting a big fat English idiot who had only come back for the money.
“They’ve bitten off more than they can chew. I tricked them into it but they still don’t know what they’ve let themselves in for.”
